Clinical History:
33 yr old woman presented with HTN. MRA of the abdomen was done to evaluate for renal artery stenosis.
Diagnosis:
Bilateral renal artery stenosis.
MR Technique:
3T scanner (Siemens Verio) with spine coil and body flex coil: Image 1: MIP of 3 D gadolinium enhanced MRA TR/TE 3.8/1.3 ms, slice thickness 1.2 mm, scan time 18.57 sec; Image 2 and 3 Coronal and axial reformatted images.
Imaging Findings:
Both renal arteries demonstrate variable caliber throughout their course. The right renal artery is mildly and variably narrowed at its origin from the aorta throughout its course up to the primary branches. The left renal artery shows greater caliber at the origin from the aorta, however, there is variable narrowing throughout the mid and distal course. There is suggestion of beaded appearance on the right.
