 authors, Jennifer Mayne MD

Clinical History:
42 year old man presented with seizures.

Diagnosis:
Oligodendroglioma

MR Technique:
3T (Siemens Verio) using head coil. Image 1: Axial T2 turbo spin echo (TR/TE 6000/96 ms, slice thickness 4 mm, scan time 1 min 26 sec); Image 2: Axial T2 FLAIR (TR/TE 9000/133 ms, TI 2500, slice thickness 4 mm, scan time 4 min 32 sec); Image 3: Axial T1 (TR/TE 250/2.5 ms, slice thickness 4 mm, scan time 2 min 10 sec); Image 4: T1 after injection of 0.1 mmol/kg of gadolinium chelate (TR/TE 250/2.5 ms, slice thickness 4 mm, scan time 2 min 10 sec).

Imaging Findings:
Increased T2 and FLAIR signal is noted in the left temporal lobe anteriorly with ill-defined margins involving the grey and white matter.  Isointense signal is noted in this region on the T1 precontrast images.  Minimal enhancement is present on the T1 postcontrast images.
